WHAT CAN YOU TELL SOMEONE WHO THINKS THEY CAN JUST WORSHIP AT HOME INSTEAD OF WORSHIPING AT THE CONGREGATION WHERE THEY LIVE?

Postmodernism, which is a subject that every congregation of the Lord’s body needs to seriously study, rationalizes about matters of faith and worship so that religion sounds like this: “You have your church and I have mine.”  “I can worship at home as well as I can going to church.”  But, faith in God is demonstrated by unity and since we are to all be one in Christ, God has always been a meeting place God.

Thus, people need to realize that Christianity is not a religion designed as a solitary religion.  God designed true Christianity for fellowship.  I mean, how can you love one another if you are not there (Jn. 13:34)?  How can there be brotherly love when some are not present (1 Thess. 4:9).

So, what can you tell people like this?  Well, that they are not yielding to the will of God.  People who stay at home I would challenge to say that they are not worshiping God at all.  They just say things like this to get someone out of their hair.  And so, their heart is not right with God because they are idle towards him.  But, what can you do?  Be the example and always encourage them to go because you don’t want, on the Day of Judgment, for them to use you as an excuse.  Just allow your influence to rub off on them so that one day they will see that the church of our Lord is an assembling body (Acts 20:7).
